Starting with Backyard Baseball 2005, Vinnie the Gooch was replaced with Abner Dubbleplay. Abner was later replaced by Jack Fouler. Pablo, Vicki, Dmitri, Kiesha, Tony, Ashley, Sidney, and Jorge were the only characters who appeared in every game of the series until the franchise reboot.
